Creative midfielder Guthrie made his debut for the Reds last season and even appeared in their Champions League match against Turkish giants Galatasary.

He is a former captain of the Liverpool reserve side and was on the books of local rivals Manchester United until moving to Anfield in 2002.

The Shrewsbury-born star will complete the paperwork of his move when returning from holiday as Wanderers add to the signings of Gerald Cid, Blerim Dzemaili, Gavin McCann and Jlloyd Samuel.

At the end of last season Guthrie had a successful loan spell with Southampton and Bolton boss Sammy Lee beleives the young star will suit the Wanderers style.

"Danny is a dynamic midfielder who is very comfortable on the ball. He has a tremendous work-ethic and has got a great engine. He is a very good passer who will suit our type of football."
