Durham teenager Andrew Cook has chosen to continue his football education with League One side Carlisle United after snubbing an offer to join up with the Bolton Wanderers youth academy next season.

Cook scored over forty goals in his local district league last season and both the Cumbrians and the Trotters were going head to head in a bid to recruit the 16-year old hot shot.

Carlisle youth team boss Eric Kinder confirmed that the club had monitored the progress of Cook for quite a while and where suitably impressed by what they had seen.

"We've had him watched and all the reports have been good, plus he has got himself over 40 goals this season, and he is in the county team over there. Bolton were also there to watch him at the weekend, but we had a word with him and he has decided to come and sign for us, which is great news." said Kinder to the official Carlisle site.
