Bolton Lead Chase For Jlloyd

The Wanderers are beleived to be winning the race to snap up Aston Villa's unsettled left back Jlloyd Samuel on a Bosman transfer this summer. Samuel has made just five appearances for Villa throughout the 2006-2007 campaign and he is heavily tipped to leave the Midlands club behind in the close season with Bolton one of a few clubs said to be interested.

The former England U21 defender is of interest to Bolton boss Sam Allardyce who has already stated that the 26-year old would be a good acquisition for the Trotters if he became available.

Trinidad-born but raised in London, Samuel has been a professional with Villa for the past nine years and was called up to one of Sven Goran Eriksson's England squads in the 2003-2004 season.
