Barness Set For Walsall Move

League Two promotion hopefuls Walsall could be about to hand a contract to former Bolton Wanderers favourite Anthony Barness.. The 33-year old Londoner is without a club having left Plymouth Argyle earlier in the season and now Saddlers boss Richard Money could be about to offer the versatile full back a contract after seeing him in action for their reserve side on Monday.

Barness has been at Yeovil Town on a trial basis recently but a move to the Midlands now seems the more likely option for the player who has also starred for Charlton Athletic and Chelsea earlier in his career.

Between 2000 and 2005, Barness played in nearly 100 games for the Wanderers and was part of the side which successfully reached and maintained their place in the Premiership.
