Bolton assistant manager Sammy Lee is lending a helping hand to the England national team once more as they look for a stand in coach to replace U21 cheif Peter Taylor. Taylor has relinquished responsibility of the England U21 team for their forthcoming friendly against Holland in Alkmaar due to commitments at club level with Crystal Palace and Lee has kindly agreed to step into the breach.

The former Liverpool midfielder only recently cut all ties with the national team following the appointment of Steve McClaren as head coach in the summer but now it seems as if the opportunity to get involved again at a national level is too good to refuse.

Lee spent five years as a senior coach of the English national set up during the Sven Goran Eriksson regime and is now looking forward to filling in for Taylor later on this month.

"It's a privilege to be able to step in and take over for this match - it's great to know I was Peter's choice. Although it's for one game only it's a pleasure to be helping him out and I'm looking forward to getting involved." said Lee earlier this week
