Bolton Wanderers are looking for their first pre-season victory tommorow afternoon as they take on Championship side Derby County at Pride Park. The Wanderers have so far recorded a draw and a defeat in their previous warm up matches against Burnley and Glasgow Rangers so Sam Allardyce will be hoping his side can go one better for the trip to Derbyshire.

Injured quartet Kevin Davies, Joey O'Brien, Abdoulaye Faye and Henrik Pedersen are all ruled out for the game, as is current Player of the Year Ricardo Gardner who is missing with a long term knee problem.

New signing Abdoulaye Meite is also out of contention as he is yet to receive international clearance following his recent move from Olmpique Marseille, so Nicky Hunt or Radhi Jaidi could come into the heart of the defence to play alongside Tal Ben-Haim.

Derby boss Billy Davies should be able to call upon tough tackling midfielder Seth Johnson despite the fact that the former Leeds United player missed training during the week.

Million pound front man Steven Howard may also get a run out after making the switch from Championship rivals Luton Town earlier on this month. The 29-year old hit fourteen goals for the Hatters last term.

Simon Coleman broke his leg whilst playing for Bolton against his former employers in the 1994-1995 season. Coleman was involved in a nasty challege with former team mate Marco Gabbiadini which left him out of action for over a year

Jussi Jaaskelainen was sent off the last time these two sides met in April 2002. The Bolton keeper had to be replaced by outfield player Nicky Southall for the remainder of the game.

Derby and Bolton have shared many connections in recent times, former Bolton coach and captain Phil Brown managed Derby last season, Colin Todd and Roy McFarland have also managed both clubs in the last ten years whilst Andy Oakes, Khalilou Fadiga, Dean Holdsworth, Blessing Kaku, Andy Oakes, Kevin Poole, Paul Ritchie and Emerson Thome have played for the two teams over the last five years.
