Veteran midfielder Gary Speed beleives that Quinton Fortune has all the necessary credentials to be a success at Bolton Wanderers. Fortune is set to sign for the Trotters after starring in their recent friendly defeat at Burnley and Speed says that the former Manchester United player has already made his mark during his short time at the Reebok Stadium.

"His pedigree speaks for itself and having played for Manchester United for so long, he`s no mug," said Speed.

"He`s a good lad, lively around the dressing room and has done well from what I`ve seen this week. Being left-footed, he slips in very comfortably to that left-back spot."

Indeed it is the left wing back spot where he played the majority of his games for United towards the end of his seven year term with Sir Alex Ferguson's side and his eventual signing will be a timely boost for Bolton who are already without first choice full back Ricardo Gardner.
