Former Bolton captain Jay-Jay Okocha has ended speculation about his future by signing a lucrative contract with the Qatar Sports Club. The 32-year old Nigerian signed with the Middle Eastern club on Tuesday evening after passing a medical and becomes the latest big name to ply his trade in Arabian football.

Big names such as Romario, Franck LeBeouf, Marcel Desailly and former Wanderer Fernando Hierro have all spent the latter part of their careers out in the Gulf region after having major success in European football.

Arabian and Middle Eastern football may not be up to the standard of the European teams but they can offer wages which can match and sometimes eclipse even the biggest of Premiership clubs.
