Aston Villa's Kevin Phillips has praised fellow striker Luke Moore following his impressive form of late and added that he believes the youngster can improve in the coming seasons. Moore, who has scored seven goals in eleven starts this season, has been praised this week after his hat-trick against Middlesbrough at the weekend.

"Luke certainly deserves all the credit he is getting at the moment," Phillips started. "You don't want to get too carried away but Luke is a level-headed sort of young lad.

"I've played before with lads who are young and, having made an initial impression, have let it get to them and affect them.

"With Luke, I am sure he is going to turn up for training like nothing has happened and it will be just like another day. In the changing room at Middlesbrough after the match, he was as if nothing special had happened."

The veteran striker continued, "I've said all along that Luke is a quality player. He's still young, he's still learning and his enthusiasm is second to none.

"If he keeps putting in performances like that, who knows where he can go."
