Aston Villa's £6.5m summer signing Milan Baros believes his performance in the 4-0 thrashing of Everton is a sign of what the Villa fans can expect from him in the future.
The Czech international scored two goals of his own and played a major role in Juan Pablo Angel's strike as Villa ran riot in the Boxing Day clash.
Speaking after the match, Baros said, "I haven't been happy with my form before. I know I can play better. But I think that was me against Everton. That was what I know I am capable of.
"I am happy that I scored the goals, but for everyone at the club, the most important thing was the three points.
"I think for all of the supporters that was the best Christmas present we could give them. We won and gave them three points."
Referring to his much disputed first goal, an honest Milan Baros admitted, "It was a handball for the first goal, but the referee didn't see it. These things happen in football."
The comfortable win against Everton sees the Villans move up to 14th in the Premiership table with 20 points. With games against fellow strugglers Fulham and West Brom to come in the next few days, O'Leary's men must feel they can finally start to move towards the top-half of the table. If Baros and co. can take their sparkling form through to the new year, an unlikely top ten position is a possibility before the end of the festive fixture list.
