Liverpool went Down 1-0 at Spurs today in what was a must win game for the reds. The Reds missed several great chances in the first half but it just was not our day. Read on Tottenham 1 Liverpool 0 - from White Hart Lane

Gerard Houllier refused to admit that the title race is over for the reds.

Houllier prasied his players for there effort today but said it just was not to be for the Anfield club.

Gastavo Poyets first half effort could now have ended the reds hopes of landing the Premiership crown. Liverpool now only have 2 games left with Arsenal have 3.

Houllier said "Obviously it's not the best result for us but you never know what is going to happen with Bolton (home to Arsenal on Monday) and Ipswich (who host Manchester United tonight). You can't give a result before they (Bolton and Ipswich) play can you?"

"We can't fault our players for effort," "To the end they fought to get back in the game".

"By half-time we should have been 2-0 up but we couldn't score. We were up for it but it was not a good day for Liverpool and I am disappointed for the players and for the fans.

"It's been a long season - it's not finished yet - and so far I am very proud of my players. We have already gone further than last season - we have five more points than last season and there are six still to go for."

The Reds who were without Steve Gerrard out with a groin problem but is thought not to be serious. "It was just a precaution because he felt his groin a bit but I should think he will be okay for the last two games.''
