Heskey injury adds to Houllier headache

Hamstring

Emile Heskey has handed Gerard Houllier a selection headache ahead of Liverpool's trip to Sunderland after straining his hamstring in the Champions League clash with Leverkusen. Heskey was taken off minutes from the end of the first Half against the german leaders Bayer Leverkusen.

Heskey's injury leaves Houllier with just Nicolas Anelka and Jari Litmanen as recognised strikers, as Michael Owen awaits the results of a scan on his foot.

Liverpool have either Milan Baros or Daniel Sjolund as possible cover, but neither have made a Premiership appearance for the Reds yet.
