Nowotny who is suspended for the First Leg at Anfield tonight is confident his side can keep England stars Owen and Heskey quiet in tonights massive game. Read on But he is certain Leverkusen can keep Michael Owen and Emile Heskey at bay.

He said: It's a pity I can't play. We have been on such a good run and every player would like to play at Anfield.

"We are in good shape and can keep Liverpool out for all of the 90 minutes."

Leverkusen coach Klaus Toppmoller believes his side will find it equally difficult to break through.

He said: "It is very hard to score against the strong defence of Liverpool with their aerial power, but in Thomas Brdaric we have someone who plays very unconventionally and is hard to figure out."
