Smicer Returns as Reds Go Down To Villa

Czech International Vladimir Smicer made his comeback last night in the Liverpool reserves.

Smicer who has been out of action for five weeks due to a broken toe returned in the 3-0 defeat to Aston Villa Reserves.

Villa had the game in the bag as they scored all three goals in a good first half display , Liverpool reserve coach Hugh McAuley said ""Vladimir played for just over an hour and he needed a game to build his fitness up, as did Markus Babbel and Gregory Vignal."
