In a new feature for Sundays, Hammered will be rounding up all of the West Ham rumours and gossip that make the national press.
This week Pardew is linked with another player at Manchester Utd and a blade from Sheffield.
The Star report that West Ham have tabled a £3million pound bid for Sheffield United midfielder Phil Jagielka who has won caps at England under 21 level. The 22 year old has a good record against the Hammers having netted twice in the last two seasons. They also have Nigel Quashie on Pardew's shopping list, Quashie was previously at Pourtsmouth before moving with Harry Redknapp to Southampton. The paper also link us with Phil Neville who apparently would command £38,000 a week and Sam Sodje an up and coming defender from Brentford who was playing with non league Margate just eighteen months ago. Pardew is also said to be keen on a deal for Portugal's £1million rated centre back Ze Castro 22.
The People link us with Man City defender Ben Thatcher while The Sunday Mail have Steve Lomas as a target for Preston North End.
The Sunday Mirror report that Neil Warnock has dismissed West Ham's bid for Jagielka, Warnock believes the midfielder is priceless.
The News of the World say that Charlton and West Ham have expressed an interest in Hibs right back Steven Whittaker 21. The paper then goes on to say he's heading for Celtic!
