Celtic manager, Gordon Strachan, has made his sixth signing of the summer, signing Paul Telfer from Southampton. Strachan's previous signings were Artur Boruc, Maciej Zurawski, Jeremie Aliadiere, Mo Camara and also Adam Virgo.

The Scotsman, who has spent his career playing in England, signed a 2 year deal with the Scottish giants. Strachan admitted that it was the veterans versatility and experience which made him sign him. But he also admitted that he did, at one point, attempt to bring in young players, but the cost of these players had put him off.

Upon securing the service of the midfielder, Strachan spoke of his delight "They can play in many positions and that's what we need. This is a small squad and we need more quality, but those players can play in various positions." he said about Paul Telfer, and Adam Virgo too.

As a result of the recent events in London, there was a break down in communication. However, if all goes by plan, Telfer should be signed in time to play for the Bhoys by midweek...
