At the SPL AGM today Dundee have been invited to be Club 12 in the SPL, preferred to relegated Dunermline.

Finally we have a fixture list in the SPL that makes sense withDundeereturning to the SPL after seven years. It also means Airdrie United will be bumped into the First Division and Stranraer into the Second as both were the play off final losers.

All we need now is for the TV companies to let us know what fixtures they will be showing and we can finally get down to planning for the early weeks of the season.

It would now appear the right decision has finally been made, with no attempt to shoe horn Rangers back into the SPL or create a knee jerk SPL2. Although we should hopefully see constructive discussion on the way forward for the game in this country.

As I have said before it is time for fans to stand up and be counted and show their financial support for their clubs and help to replace the finds lost by Rangers dropping into SFL 3.

There should, also, now be time for reflection and for people to look at what has gone on in recent weeks. Should Stuart Regan of the SFA and Neil Doncaster of the SPL remain in their jobs after all the alleged shenanigans to get Rangers back into the SPL.

What will happen to Rangers newco side, with regard to their EBT investigation or to the dual contracts and also the transfer embargo. With all the talk of SPL clubs going into administration, could it be it will be Rangers who will be the first to go into admin as the try to survive on SFL 3 finances.

Interesting times ahead to say the least….
