With Rangers now, inevitably, heading into liquidation, what will the other SPL clubs do with their SPL share?

With Rangers now likely to emerge from administration as a newco after HMRC decided not to accept the CVA option, the SPL clubs now have a major decision to make.

All 12 clubs will have to convene to decide the future of the new Rangers, in an 8-4 vote, but what do they do, do they go for Sporting integrity or take the money!

Whatever they do I think it will be a lose-lose situation for the SPL Chairmen, do they appease their fans or ignore them. The fans of most clubs have expressed their desire to see no newco in the SPL next season, with many threatening season ticket boycott.

On the other hand the clubs may be thinking commercially, and look for the money Rangers bring to the SPL table. This would be through bums on seats and through the Sky TV deal.

This is the rock and a hard place the clubs now find themselves, and there is no hiding place now. For weeks they have been able to bury their heads in the sand and put on a back burner as there was no decision to make – WELL now there is!

Me, I would like to see “justice” done and Rangers treated exactly the same way as Dunfermline, Motherwell orInvernesswould be treated. I am certain that would be rejection from the SPL – if that is what it has to be, so be it!

The others will survive and we may be in for a few tough years but we will be able to live with our collective conscience.
