Craig Levein appears to be splitting the Scotland fans at the moment with some the selections he has made in recent squads.

Levein, like many international managers, has made the point of telling us he will be looking to pick only players who are playing regularly and in from for their team.

His latest squad flies in the face of that argument, take the goalkeepers for example. He has selected Craig Gordon who is third choice atSunderlandignoring the form of Cammy Bell and Craig Sansom at Killie and St. Mirren respectively.

Then, of course, there is the striking position, where we are stuck with Kenny Miller once again, backed up by Mackail-Smith, Mackie and Goodwillie (all three only bench warming at the moment). But he continues to ignore the claims of Steven Fletcher and Ross McCormack due to fall outs with the two of them.

Also up front the top scoring Scot inUKfootball, Jordan Rhodes with 30, is in the Under 21s to play theNetherlands. If we are preparing for the World Cup qualifiersRhodesshould be with the full squad even if it harms the Under 21s hopes of their qualification.

If Levein doesn’t watch the Tartan Army will soon see through all of this and if we don’t win games between now and the end of the year in friendlies and qualifiers, he could find himself under pressure and likely to lose his job!

Hopefully I am proved wrong and he gets it right, as a proud Scot I hope is successful because if he is then my Scotland National team will be as well.
