The Killie and Hearts managers have swapped their respective opinions on each other over the last couple of days ahead of their game tomorrow.

First it was Kenny Shiels yesterday, claiming Hearts owner Vladimir Romanov should not be involved in team selection, as he said, "I don't know what way Mr Romanov's going to make his selections but certainly they've got a good pool of players to pick from.

"I wouldn't be in that position because my remit as a manager is to select the team and if the chairman interferes then I'm off because you have to have principles. It's either back me or sack me.

"Certainly, there's no way I would let a chairman tell me what players to pick."

This is all very honourable and easy to say when you have a chairman who won’t get involved.

In response Paulo Sergio was quick to retaliate today, “This guy is talking about principles? Instead of sticking his nose into other teams he should look at what is happening inside his own.

"He is like a clown. I am saving money every day when I open the newspapers instead of going to the stand up comedy and paying for a ticket.

"Every single morning I have a big laugh when I open the newspapers. A guy that is talking about principles doesn't show any kind of ethics for anybody in this game.”

For what it’s worth I have every sympathy for Sergio’s thoughts, sometimes in a work situation you have to accept what your boss tells you and get on with it. We don’t all have the finances to walk away from a job just because we disagree with our boss.

Shiels should be concentrating on what is happening at Rugby Park, where Killie have fallen out of the top six under his tenure, although he seems to think making it into the League Cup vindicates his principles.

Could be worth watching the sidelines atRugbyParktomorrow, rather than the game itself!
