Despite many reports of this being a quiet January window there are plenty of moves and rumoured moves to talk about.

Despite new Hibs Boss Pat Fenlon struggling to get players in he has let one more leave Easter Rd with Victor Palssen leaving Hibs, after his contract was terminated. This would appear to be another move aimed at Fenlon putting his own stamp on the squad and releasing wages to allow this to happen.

Over at East End Park, they look to have found a keeper to replace the injured Paul Gallacher who is out for the rest of the season. They look as though they will bring Preston’s Iain Turner to Scotland.

Turner is a name known to followers of the Scottish national sides having featured in squads at almost every level. It will be interesting to see how good he actually is and how he will cope with playing regular games.

At Rugby Park Derek Riordan has been training at Kilmarnock, and played in a bounce game against Rangers at Murray Park this afternoon. Reports do seem to indicate his future will lie elsewhere, probably in England.

Killie are also discussing a possible move for Scunthorpe United central defender Michael Nelson. Scunthorpe boss Alan Knill told the club's website: "Nothing has been finalised yet and talks between Michael and Kilmarnock are ongoing.”

Nelson, 31, moved to the Iron from Norwich City last January on a two-and-a-half year contract and has made 16 appearances this season.

Finally today the move to take Scott Allan to West Brom from Dundee United was finalised. This putting an end to the stories that the Old Firm would be in a position to attract him to Glasgow. These stories begin to look more and more like tabloid stories aimed at the gullible amongst the supporters of the big two.
