David Weir wore a message for the Royal Wedding on his shirt and questions were asked
Rangers Captain David Weir wore a message on his shirt saying, “Congratulations William and Katherine, 29th April 2011” and this brought questions to Manager Walter Smith after the game.
The manager was perplexed saying he knew nothing about it and it was the work of kitman Jimmy Bell, who was “looking for a knighthood or an invite to the next Royal Wedding.”
This was the type of answer the question deserved, although the message did seemingly break “rule 4” about personal messages on shirts. Surely if this is something the player was comfortable to do it has caused no harm to anyone?
I think we have more to worry us in the Scottish game than a message on a shirt…
