After this afternoon’s friendly two of the Brazilian squad have complained of racist comments/abuse from the Scotland fans.

Goalscorer Neymar and sub Lucas have made claims they were racially abused by a section of the Scotland support and also had a banana thrown at them.

It would appear there could be some doubt cast on their claims given the banana seems to have come from a section of the ground which housed the Brazilian support.

Once again booing or jeering someone is immediately seen as racism, maybe Neymar should consider he was being booed for falling over to easily at the penalty.

Also fans will jeer a penalty taker in an attempt to put them off therefore it doesn’t always add up to racist abuse!

However, an SFA spokesperson said: "There has been no such incident reported (banana throwing) to the police or the stadium safety officer.

"In fact, the tens of thousands of Scotland supporters who travelled to the Emirates were commended for their behaviour.

"The Scotland supporters are known the world over for their impeccable behaviour and we have no reason to believe that, after speaking to the relevant authorities, they have been anything other than exemplary.”

Hopefully this will all blow over and the Brazilians will see the error of their accusations.
