Motherwell became the first club to talk to their fans to explain the progress in the SPL reconstruction debate.
Chief Exec Leeann Dempster and Vice Chairman Derek Weir took the opportunity to talk to fans tonight to explain what progress had been made and what the club’s position is.
There was the explosion of a few myths around what votes had been taken, and it would appear there have been none!!
But what became apparent was there are now only two alternatives on the table for discussion, change to a ten (as too many clubs oppose a 14) or stay as we are.
There are also key components to any other change, such as an earlier start to the season, re-vamped League Cup and relegation play offs.
It would appear Motherwell have made no commitment to which way they will go, unless there are financial considerations given for moving from being faced with relegation for finishing 12th and moving this to 8th!
It was a very informative meeting with fans given the chance to question someone who it representing the club in the whole reconstruction process and is certainly something more clubs should be doing.
