The Old Firm joined Motherwell and Aberdeen in the League Cup Semi Finals after wins over Kilmarnock and St. Johnstone last night

Celtic started their game at Perth like world beaters and were three goals up before the Saints had effectively turned up. The goals coming from a double from Anthony Stokes either side of one from Niall McGinn.

The game was made a bit more interesting when Loovens made another howler to allow Saints into the game just before the break, Sam Parkin latching on to the error to score.

Early in the second half the Saints made it a one goal game when Davidson rose above the Celts defence to power a header past Foster.

The keeper was then on hand in the final minute to make a superb reflex save from Myrie-Williams following an outstanding run from the former Dundee Utd man.

The other side of the great divide made progress in a much more straight forward fashion. They opened the scoring through Andrew Little on 25 minutes with a stunning shot from 25 yards. The goal came against the run of play and after Killie had a goal disallowed.

Rangers clinched the tie in the second half when former Killie man Steven Naismith and once again it was against the run of play.

The draw takes place tomorrow afternoon and all the conspiracy theorists will be looking to see if the Old Firm clubs are kept apart!!
