Just when it looked like we might be signing Steve Staunton he went back for more discussions with Coventry. Today has brought another twist in this ever changing tale.

This has all been a bit confusing so we've made it simple for you

• Staunton is out of contract
• Coventry offered Staunton a Contract
• Micky Adams set a July 1st deadline for all out of contract players.
• Staunton opened talks with Walsall with regards to a Player-Coaching role.
• Staunton went back to Coventry for more talks.

With today being July 1st, Coventry were due back for pre-season training. Staunton failed to show up at the Sky Blues training ground. It had been reported that his reluctance to play as a left back had put pay to any potential move to Walsall.

Maybe the deal isn't yet dead.
