This weekend one Walsall legend will earn the right to ply his trade in the Premiership.

The game is Preston North End Vs West Ham United, and the men in question are PNE coach David Kelly, and Hammers goalkeeper Jimmy Walker.

Kelly and Walker have spent more time with Walsall than they have with any other Club.

What adds more interest to the game is that Kelly left the Saddlers for West Ham. The £600,000 fee that secured the move is still a Walsall FC record.

Kelly went on to have a successful career playing for Newcastle, Wolves, Sunderland, Tranmere as well as representing the Republic of Ireland in the 1994 World Cup. Since hanging up his boots he's held coaching roles with both Tranmere and Sheffield United and was even linked with the Walsall managers job when Colin Lee left. 

Jimmy left the Saddlers following our relegation at the end of 2004. Since moving to Upton Park he hasn't been an automatic first choice, but looks set to start Mondays play-off final with just 10 first team appearances under his belt since the start of the season. 

So who will you be rooting for this weekend? The up and coming coach? The legendry goalkeeper? Or will you be happy either way? Whatever happens on Monday afternoon one of these Walsall legends will go up a run on the career ladder.
