Paul Merson is never one to not comment on a talking point. He has been speaking about THAT MISS against Wrexham. With the score level and the clock running down, Merson sent a well-hit volley flying over the bar from just six yards out. It's pace had the keeper beat; Merson should have found easier to score than it was to miss. .

The cross couldn't have been more precise. Merson had been playing out wide and drifted in from the right flank and found himself practically unmarked.

“Merson told the press - It was the biggest sitter I've ever missed. Some of the lads thought I was offside but I wasn't, it was a shocking miss. I missed one just like it in training the day before.”
