Frank Who? - New Coach Appointed

After all of the rumours about big names being interested in the job - it's more a case of Frank Who, for those who didn't watch their football in the 1980s! Walsall have named their new first team coach this morning and it has come as a surprise, but for very different reasons than we thought.

The new coach is 58 year old (it's his birthday today) Frank Barlow, the former Chesterfield and Scunthorpe manager.

Barlow was a player for Sheffield United before going into coaching and management ans spent roughly seven years as manager of first Chesterfield and then Scunthorpe in the eighties.

Since then, he has been coaching at Sheffield Wednesday and latterly Bristol City, following Danny Wilson around.

Thgis news is likely to come as a disappointment to many Saddlers' fans, given the talk from the club about "big" names. However, it has to be said, who had heard of Ray Graydon as a coach before he arrived at Bescot? Time will tell.
