It's Them Diamond Geezers

The draw has been made for the first round of the LDV Vans Trophy and it's going to be a first ever home game against Rushden and Diamonds. The ties are due to be played during week commencing the 27th September, so the game is likely to be on Tuesday the 28th.

This game should generate some interest, being our first ever competitive game against the Northamptonshire outfit since their promotion to the football league, but, in view of Merson's atttitude to the League Cup, I suspect Walsall will be playing, basically, a reserve team.
