The Cherries have only just finished off their new pitch. This time last week it looked like a giant sand pit.

Both sides suffered at the hands of poor refereeing the weekend. Bournmouth were subjected to the horrors of Mr Prosser on Saturday, ( Yes, the same Mr Prosser who made a name for himself at Millwall last season). While we got Probert - comedy genius - master of cards - red and yellow. We can't get two bad Refs in a row - surely?

WALSALL - Paul Merson will have to replace suspended defender Ian Roper. He could move the impressive Julian Bennett in to the middle and use Kris Taylor or Zigor Aranalde at Left Back. Alternativly, he could hand debut's to either Scott Dann or Kofi Dakinah.

Merson also has Player-Coach Simon Osborn available for selection. Ossie could well replace Michael Standing who was far from impressive against Port Vale.

Fans were impressed with Leitao, Leroy Williams and Daryl Taylor at the weekend. All 3 did enough to warrent a start on Tuesday night. All 3 look capable of playing the Merson role behind the front two. It will depend on if Merson wants to rest himself.

BOURNEMOUTH - Cherries player Neil Young misses the clash through suspension. Young, like Roper, falls foul of the new disciplin program which rulse out any player dismissed in the game before.

Bournemouth are also without Jason Tindall, Stephen Purches and Gareth O'Connor who are all injured. Manager Sean O'Driscoll hadn't expected any of these three to make it in time for Tuesday evening.

Walsall fans can look forward to seeing Dani Rodrigues. Rodrigues was one of many Colin Lee signings who hardly got a kick while at the Club. He had been playing for Ionikos in Greece along with Brazilian winger Herivelto.

HEAD 2 HEAD HISTORY - This is the 94th meeting between these two sides. Walsall shade the head to head record with 34 wins to the Cherries 27. The rest have ended all square - as did the last two games between these sides. We last crossed swords in February 2000. That game ended 2-2 thanks to a great Walsall fightback which included a Ronnie Ekelund penalty a Darren Byfield goal just two minutes from time.
