Darren Byfield has decided to join Gillingham. Walsall's efforts to lure him back to Bescot were in vein. There is more money and a better standard of Football elsewhere.

DARREN SIGNS FOR THE GILLS

DARREN BYFIELD HAS SNUBBED THE EFFORTS OF BONSER AND MERSE AND SIGNED FOR GILLINGHAM.  

The 28 year old former Walsall man had been training with the Club after failing to get a deal with Sunderland.

Byfield has signed a two year deal with the Kent based Club and will be playing Championship rather than League One Football next season.
