The Sunday Mercury is suggesting that both Paul Bracewell and Mick Halsall turned down the caretakers job before it was offered to Merse and Osborn. 4th April 2004

THE SUNDAY MERCURY UNDERSTANDS THAT MICK HALSALL AS WELL AS PAUL BRACEWELL TURNED DOWN THE CARETAKERS POST AT WALSALL

The paper says Halsall refused the job out of loyalty to Colin Lee.

Halsall had a 37 game stint in charge Peterborough back in 95/96 . He kept The Posh up in what was a tough season when they flirted with the relegation zone all season.
