There was one player Colin Lee failed to sign before Thursdays 5pm deadline. That player his Darren Currie, a winger from Wycombe.
THE ONE THAT GOT A WAY
THE EXPRESS AND STAR REPORTS THAT COLIN LEE ALMOST SIGNED WYCOMBE WIDE MAN DARREN CURRIE, BUT FAILED TO MEET THE 5PM DEADLINE.
The 29 year old winger cost Wycombe £200,000 when they signed him from Barnet in the Summer of 1997.
Currie has also played for Shrewsbury, Leyton Orient, Plymouth and Barnet during a career which began at West Ham in the early 1990s.
He has well over 500 first team appearances under his belt, and was probably earmarked to fill the vacancy left by Pedro Matias who moved to Blackpool.
