The Walsall owner Jeff Bonser has sold his company and aims to spend more time concentrating on the club. We take a look at his contribution to Walsall FC.
Jeff Bonser has sold of his Bathroom fittings business for a six figure sum. JW Bonser Ltd manufactured Zinc alloy castings and bathroom fittings. Bonser sold the company to Dalby holdings Ltd.
Jeff Bonser hasn't chased the dream. He has made it a reality - his way.
- An improving team.
- Stadium (and land around being built on)
- Canny managerial appointments.
- Financing signings (This weeks striker news)
- Overseen the most successful period in our history.
- Financially secure club - with a future.
The majority of Walsall fans disagreed with how things were in the early/mid 1990's. Who would blame them. A lack of transfer fee's. Mid table mediocrity. A lack of ambition on the playing side. The rest they say is history. Graydon and Lee really changed things - with Jeff's help. Things have fell in to place. Most fans now see what happened in the past was for the good of the club. Certain groups of fans are still unhappy about Bonser's involvement with the club. They find it hard to accept that he was right, and still seek to pick faults with his work.
Anyone who wishes to be sceptical during such good times will never be pleased. It does make you wonder weather those who constantly, moan, knock the club and how it works are any happier now than they were in the days of John Barnwell and relegation.
Todays news will be music to the ears of those fans who accept that Bonser has worked wonders with the club. He is now going to dedicate more time to the club, which can only be good.
Let us not forget Roy Whalley - who despite some wacky ideas and ploys in the past, is like Jeff Bonser a Walsall fan, and wants to see us do well.
Well done Jeff, and thanks.
