Martin O'Connor has signed for another club, and insists we did offer him a contract, even though, at the time, he said he hadn't heard from the club! Martin O'Connor has signed for Shrewsbury Town, in a shock move today, according to Planet Football.

Many had expected the Walsall legend to move to a team in the lower Divisions, but not many, despite persistant rumours, thought he would move to non League.

The strangest part of the story is that he said today that he decided on the move, as he had turned down a contract offer from Walsall, as it didn't suit him.

This comes as a surprise to many, who thought that he was one of the players who had not received any offer from the club.

If it is true, one does wonder what sort of offer it could have been to be worse than one from a non League team.

Perhaps the truth will out in time.
