Shocking News

Walsall have agreed a three year deal with Manchester United that will see the Saddlers having first refusal on the up and coming talent that constantly fails to break in to the United first team

As part of the deal Roy Whalley pointed out that our  players who reach a "required standard" would interest Man Utd. Coaches from the school of excellence will also be visiting Man United's training complex and staff from the two clubs will meet regularly.

Will this make us the envy of all Nationwide Clubs, or is this the start of the Nursery Club syndrome in English Football?

The club stress it is not a nursery club set up, but will we ever produce a talent that could make us millions in the transfer market if Man United are there and ready to pick him up while he is still in his teens.

On the other hand, in the current climate is it wise to shy away from such a deal when we stand no chance of making millions from a player unless he is outstanding.

Then again, will may able to compete with the likes of Villa and Albion when it comes to attracting young players to the club, because they will have the chance to impress people from United?

Could a constant stream of young and promising talent propel us up the league table to mid table mediocrity? Or will the constant revolving door that could appear disrupt the team

What about if a youngster makes a name for himself at the Saddlers, United agree to let him leave - for a fee - We cant pay it - Someone else comes along and snaps him up?

Are we selling our soul to the Devil

Plenty of questions - The answers will be provided as the season progresses.
