Danny Hay started New Zealand's second Confederations Cup game against Colombia, but the 10 man Kiwis were eventually humbled by their South American opponents. As expected, following their defeat to Japan, Danny Hay started New Zealands latest Confederations Cup game against Colombia in Lyons.

New Zealand took a suprise first half lead against the disappoiting Colombian side, shorn of several stars due to them having two sides in the Copa Liberatadores semi finals, when De Gregorio scored a fluke goal. He shot, miskicked completely, and the rebound fell nicely for him to smack home the rebound from 20 yards.

Just over five minutes into the second half, however, Columbian pressure told with a long range equaliser and shortly afterwards, the Kiwis were reduced to 10 men when Oldham's Chris Killen got a second yellow card.

The pressure after that was constant and, despite heroics from the keeper, Colombia went on to get two more.

Danny Hay had a reasonalble game, with the defence looking far more solid than it had against Japan. but the lack of cover in front of the back four told in the end.

New Zealand's last game will be against France, so Danny may have another tough game to come!
