Chris Shuker has sealed a new one year deal to keep him at Manchester City next season, dashing any hopes Colin Lee had of bringing him to The Bescot Stadium this summer.
It was thought that Shuker was a summer transfer target of Colin Lee as the Walsall manager aims to reduce the average age of the squad. Shuker didn't make as big of an impact as Colin Lee would have liked during his loan spell last season, but it was thought that he showed enough potential to earn a summer move to The Bescot Stadium.
Kevin Keegan has obviously seen this potential and decided to give Shuker one more year to break into the first team.
With Shuker staying at City and Cardiff on the brink of promotion which will mean that Gareth Ainsworth stays at Ninian Park, Colin Lee looks to have lost out on his two summer targets that would have offered him options out wide.
