Former Walsall player of the season Gino Padula will step out for QPR at Cardiff later this month. Padula did turn up to pre-season training in the summer of 2000, but it was not at the Bescot, as the player chose to sign for Wigan Athletic.

Things didn't work out for Gino at the JJB, and he turned up at QPR this season where he has gone on to establish him self in the QPR backline.

Brett Angell was on the bench for tonight's 1-0 victory over Oldham Athletic, and he like Padula will be hoping to play some kind of role at Cardiff.

Brett found his way to QPR via a spell with Port Vale where he netted 5 goals in just 13 appearances.

Saddlers fans may also be interested to hear that Ian Brightwell has been released by Port Vale. Brightwell was one of the most consistent performers during the Ray Graydon era,  but Colin Lee allowed him to join Stoke shortly after arriving at the Bescot, before the player signed for Vale on a free transfer.
