Lee blames fans favorite

Colin Lee has put his already precarious relationship with many of the Walsall fans on the line by blasting fans favorite Ian Roper after Saturdays defeat at Crystal Palace.

Lee who also blasted referee's for their inconsistencies, should look at how he comments on the performances of his players, which is as equally inconsistant.

I could see the first penalty coming and I've got no qualms about it," said Lee. "Dougie Freedman is a very experienced player and Ian Roper missed his tackle.

"As for the second penalty, I just don't know what Ian was doing. He seemed to reach for the sky when he handled, so he would be responsible for both penalties."(TeamTalk.com)

Very rarely, if at all does Lee single players out for criticism, and when you consider that other players like Zigor Aranalde and Matt Carbon have been far guiltier than Roper this season it seems as if the former Wolves and Watford boss is looking to spread the blame.

The player of the season poll is likely to be a two horse race between the commanding center half and popular keeper Jim Walker, with O'Connor, Wrack, Bazeley, Leitao and Junior also likely to prove popular amongst fans.

With the fans faith in Lee already dwindling, and cries of "sack the dingle" commonly heard when things are not going well, Lee seems to have done himself no favors by singling out one of the clubs most popular players when he has done something that others have been doing all season without comment.
