Shukur the man

TheSaddlersFC believe Chris Shukur is the injection of pace Colin Lee today mentioned on the clubs official site. Shukur has been spotted at the Bescot today, and a deal to bring him to the Bescot could be complete before Saturday.

The Man City youngster has spent the day at the Bescot Stadium and trained with the first team this week. Chris had short loan spell at Maclesfield Town (in 2001) where he played 14 games and scored 1 goal playing on the left wing.

At the age of 20, he has only been a professional for two years, and has made 6 appearances for the Maine Road outfit. 5 of his 6 appearances have been off the bench, and he also managed to grab himself a goal.

What remains to be seen is what position this will leave Pedro Matias and Steve Corica in who are already competing for the left midfield slot. Matias in particular has produced some excellent performances from the Subs bench in recent weeks.

We must just reiterate the fact that no official confirmation has been received over Shukur, but a player looking exactly like him has been seen around the ground today (Wed 26th Feb).
