At 3:00pm tomorrow the season kicks off in earnest at the Butts Park Arena.  The 1st XV for the first game of the campaign, led by captain Tom Wheatcroft, is as follows...

COVENTRY: 15 James Stokes, 14 James Pritchard, 13 Corey Hircock, 12 Tom Wheatcroft (captain), 11 Max Trimble, 10 Tony Fenner, 9 Sam Grasso, 1 Jimmy Litchfield, 2 Scott Tolmie, 3 Phil Boulton, 4 Tom Jubb, 5 Brendon Snyman, 6 Darrell Dyer, 7 Eoghan Grace, 8 Ali Bone. 
Replacements: 16 Matt Price, 17 Boris Stankovich, 18 Brett Daynes, 19 Rhodri Adamson, 20 Will Maisey.

The prediction league is currrently uniformly optimistic, with 100% backing a Cov win of some sort.  The lowest combined points total predicted is 44, which suggests that supporters fancy it will be an open game.

On which note, there's still time to have a dabble at the league if you fancy it.  On the upside, it's entirely free, on the downside the only prize is glory and bathing deeply in the warm glow of victory.  Click here to see how it all works.

Looking forward to taking the whole family tomorrow.

The lad, who is two going on thirteen, currently fancies himself a place-kicker and has also mastered the art of pinging it into the darkest, prickliest corners of the garden. (My brief rugby career was also based on kicking it as far and fast as possible, in fairness).

I can't wait to see what he makes of his first Cov game - he may be the only person in the ground encouraging us to kick it away!
