Coventry are laying down a marker to their promotion rivals with Saturday’s seven-try win at Loughborough Students putting them top of the National League One table.
Cov lead the way on points difference over promoted Ampthill as the only two sides on maximum match points after two rounds of games.
“We know it’s only week two of a long, long season, but we’re in a good place and I’m very pleased after today,” said head coach Scott Morgan.
“We’ve gone well today. We’ve not done anything flash, coming away from home you need to limit the errors and be clinical and ruthless in the right areas, and in that respect we did a good job.
“The forwards put in a strong performance, the front five in particular, but we are working hard as a complete unit and will continue to do so.”
