“I didn’t feel as if I’d been away and, touch wood, I’m a bit battered and bruised but fit and fine to go on from this.
“We’ve got Ealing in two weeks, so I’m looking forward to that and hope I will be selected.
“It’s a big weight off my mind, and although I’m not currently signed for next season because of the situation with my back, I should be sorting that out soon and hope to stay.”
Wright, who had come through all the pre-season games before rupturing a disc in a gym session, was aiming to be back in action in early November, but it didn’t work out as planned.
“It was a major operation and not as simple as I thought – it affected my left leg and I lost all feeling in it. I had to wait for the nerves to repair,” he said.
“I stopped going to the games halfway through, it was just too frustrating.
