Cov Kid Andy Goode has no plans to hang up his Wasps jersey and retire from rugby with the club about to begin a new era in his hometown.

Reports have suggested the 34-year-old was set to retire at the end of the current season but Goode was quick to deny the rumours.

He told the Telegraph: "It's the first I've heard of it, normally a player makes a decision on their future, not a reporter.

"I've played every game for the club this season and I want to continue that 100 per record. I feel like I have at least another two years in me and the hugely exciting opportunity in Coventry gives me even more incentive to continue playing."

Wasps will roll into the Ricoh Arena on December 21 for their game against London Irish after buying 50 per cent of the stadium operating company ACL in October and tickets for the opener have gone on sale today.

Goode, who grew up in Stivichall, hopes Wasps fans and sport fans in the local area will come out in force to mark the start of a new beginning for the club in Coventry.

The former Henry VIII pupil said: "It's a brilliant price scheme, adult tickets start from £15 and a whole family of two adults and a child can watch top-class sport for £40 which represents tremendous value for money.
