Coventry’s head coach Scott Morgan was quick to praise his injury-hit squad after they had achieved a fifth win on the trot, the best they have achieved whilst in National League One.

With injuries again having a major bearing on the squad which Cov were able to field against Esher, Morgan praised the ethos of the side which denied the Surrey visitors a first ever win at the Butts Park Arena.

“Yes, it was a tough second half, but overall I was very happy with the outcome,” he said. “If we can get some forwards back with a bit of size, we have a back line capable of taking anyone apart in this division.

“It was actually a lot windier out there than possibly some people believed. We had it behind us in the first half and we had played a certain way.

"We knew when we went in at half time we had to keep the ball and play in the right channels. I know there is still lots to put right if we want to kick on and be in the top couple by Christmas time.

"Execution and understanding – sometimes you have to play by the percentages, be efficient and strike in a different channel.’’
