WINTER looms large, and as conditions begin to change, head coach Scott Morgan believes now is the time to take stock of Coventry’s position six games into the National League One season.

Cov had their first taste of what is to come last Saturday when a first-half deluge at Cinderford turned what had started out as an excellent playing surface into a greasy skid pan which made handling and ball retention something of a lottery.

And despite coming away with a 15-11 win, Morgan was first to acknowledge that Cov had not reacted as well as they might to the changing conditions.

“It was a little bit frustrating with the rain coming down the way it did and then the weather brightening up again,” said Morgan. “It would have been nice to have not had the greasy surface and to have played with a dry ball.

“But we only get that for probably three months of the season, if we are lucky, the majority is played with conditions not dissimilar to what we’ve just seen, so I think we need to have a look at things.

“We do have a Plan B, but I don’t think we execute it yet as well as we do our prime game plan.

Well I recommend a few mid-week sessions on Hearsall Common, if you can play there you can play anywhere!

Well this season teams in ND1 could be playing in A mud bath one week then next week on plastic !!

Omg, 'not as good as our prime game plan'!!?!... Hasn't not following the game plan been one of the consistently quoted problems of this and last season?! So if plan b, is worse than plan a, I'm scared, very scared!!! ;-)
