Hull City Assistant Manager Colin Murphy has stressed the club would not be making any panic signings and will not break the club's wage structure in the search for a new striker

Responding to another week of transfer rumours, Murphy spoke to the Hull Daily Mail today:

"When you go to sign a player, certain things have got to gel. You've got to agree a price. The chairman of the particular club has got to agree to sell someone who, quite often, is his best player."

"His manager will not want to sell so that can cause a row. Even if that particular side of things is sorted out, you have to make an agreement with the player. In agreeing terms, you have to be mindful of the wage structure that is already in place."

"The rest of the players are the ones who have built the spirit. They've produced the performances and the results. They've got us where we are. You can't jeopardise that."

"You could argue that if we did sign a proven goal scorer, it would enhance our chances of success. But people have got to remember that up until the last three or four games, we were scoring goals. In fact, I think there was only one club in the entire country - Ipswich -with a better scoring ratio than us."

"Sometimes, scoring goals is like winning games in that it's difficult to keep winning games - whether you are Chelsea or Hull City. Our players are not doing anything differently. Every time they go on to a pitch, they, us and the supporters must think they are capable of scoring."
