Neil Warnock will be delighted to hear that Carl Asaba should be fit and ready for pre-season training following his injury problems. Asaba missed the end of the season due to an Achilles injury and has been receiving treatment at Lilleshall.

Specialists have now told the former Gillingham striker that he is on course to link up with the rest of the squad for the build-up to the big kick-off.

Asaba experienced a miserable first full season at Bramall Lane, struggling to find the form he showed towards the end of the previous campaign.

He is desperate to repay the faith Neil Warnock has shown in him and it is looking as though he will get the chance at the start of the season.

In transfer news Neil Warnock has announced that he is after Gillingham striker Iffy Onoura and Tranmere Rovers Wayne Alison, both players are over 30 abd are on a free.
